Breaking Free
chains creak,
old, rusty iron shackles that
bind us to the ground
to restrict the freedom of flight.
clip our wings, stifle our
cries, that reach pleadingly to the
out of bounds, beautiful sky of
dreams and ambitions
to break free from nightmare everlasting
then comes twilight,
the shadows dissolve
shackles, chains like acid
rush, RUSH for the sky above
blow past foe and traitor
friend, to flee the horror
and it ends.
daybreak, we find
the sky is clear
and we are flying.
beholden to no-one
but the shadows.
void, unknown
everlasting
memories of prison days
we will never forget
so
we join their ranks,
to free the rest.
old, rusty iron shackles that
bind us to the ground
to restrict the freedom of flight.
clip our wings, stifle our
cries, that reach pleadingly to the
out of bounds, beautiful sky of
dreams and ambitions
to break free from nightmare everlasting
then comes twilight,
the shadows dissolve
shackles, chains like acid
rush, RUSH for the sky above
blow past foe and traitor
friend, to flee the horror
and it ends.
daybreak, we find
the sky is clear
and we are flying.
beholden to no-one
but the shadows.
void, unknown
everlasting
memories of prison days
we will never forget
so
we join their ranks,
to free the rest.
